There is a spectacular urban bat colony of up to 50,000 bats living under the McNeil Road IH-35 Bridge in Round Rock, Texas. Throughout Texas, road bridges are being designed with crevasse to attract new colonies of friendly and beneficial bats. These bats save the state of Texas hundreds of millions of dollars in natural pest control. From March through November, near dusk underneath the I-35 overpass at McNeil Road in Round Rock, Texas about 10 miles south of Georgetown, you can enjoy a batty night of fun with the Round Rock Bats. Do show up early, and bring bring your favorite beverage, blankets, covers, and a hat or some other head covering. And remember, never attempt to handle or capture bats at any time. There is available free parking located near this location.
