Description
Map of the Americas. 17th-century map of the continents of North America and South America, still being explored by Europeans. The exact shape of North America has not yet been determined. Many place names are given along the coastlines. This map was produced by Robert Vaughan (name at bottom right) and published by Anne Seile (name at upper left) in 1663. It is a re-engraved version of a map previously published for Henri Seile in 1652 under the title 'Americae descriptio nova'. The main labels are in English and Latin.
