From March through November of each year, large groups of locals and tourists visit the Mexican free-tailed bats in Austin, Texas. Each summer night from 6-9 p.m., many bat enthusiasts and watchers stake out lookout spots below and above the Congress Avenue Bridge to catch the best view of the Congress Bridge Bats, also known as Mexican free-tailed bats or Brazilian free-tailed bats, emerging and shooting out of the sky for their nightly feeding and aerial show.
