In this photo taken with a unique perspective looking up, thousands of local bat watchers and tourists fill the Congress Avenue Bridge as the Austin skyline burst open while 1.5 million Mexican free-tail bats fly out of the bridge over Lady Bird Town Lake for their nightly feeding flight. The Congress Avenue Bridge is home to the largest urban bat colony in North America with up to 1.5 million bats spiraling into the summer skies. Austin's bat colony is the most unusual and fascinating tourist attractions in the world.
